Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid's refusal to shed the $60,000-plus from tribes connected to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff has delighted the GOP and provided fodder for daily news releases. But as Reid also has old ethical questions about his sons' lobbying exhumed, he also this week had the Republicans frothing about Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean saying Democrats who wrote letters on behalf of Abramoff clients, as Reid did, "should be in trouble." Reid has said the missive, written close to when he received a check from the client, had nothing to do with the donation. I wonder if the minority leader called the DNC boss to unleash a Dean-like scream.
