Letter: Electoral College fails American voters
Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006 | 7:08 a.m.
Regarding Clarence Lanzrath's Dec. 6 letter, in which he opposes the abolishment of the Electoral College:
We need to do away with the Electoral College so that everyone who votes will know that his or her vote does count. We don't use the Electoral College on the state or local levels, where it all seems to be working very well.
The Electoral College does not work on the national level at all. If it did, we would not have the president we now have and more likely we would not be at war with a nation that never attacked us. Anyone who thinks that the Electoral College works needs to take a better look at it.
