Get into the holiday spirit by attending the performance of the musical "Christmas Stories" this weekend. Proceeds will go to Have a Peaceful Heart Foundation (haveapeacefulheart.org), an organization dedicated to peaceful co-existence.

Tickets are only $10 in advance and $15 at the door. For information call 204-7369. The show will be at 7 p.m. Saturday in the auditorium of the new Church of Scientology, 2751 Emerson Ave.

The production is based on an imaginary 1930 s radio show in the Las Vegas area, when the new Boulder Dam was the big news and Las Vegas advertised itself as "The Gateway to the Dam," said musical director Don Alexander.

The show features singing, dancing, skits and Santa.

The cast includes Michael Cagle, Gene Sironen from "Legends in Concert" (the Righteous Brothers tribute), Heidi Thompson (as Cher), Jannelle O'Shaughnessy, Judy and Rockie Brown and Tiffany Abril.

Alexander's wife, Christina, is the director.

Stuck on Stupid wins

Ten-year-old Ellie Smith of Henderson lost out to the rock band Stuck on Stupid on the "Living Room Live! Kids," a segment of "The Early Show" on CBS-TV. (KLAS Channel 8 ).

Each Monday videos of three performers or groups from around the nation are aired on the show, and viewers vote on line . Voting ends at noon on Wednesdays and winners are announced on the Thursday morning programs.

Stuck on Stupid, a Scotia, N.Y.-based band of teenagers, received 39 percent of the vote, beating out Ellie, who sang "Don't Rain on My Parade," and Makaala Perry, 7, of Honolulu, who sang "Tomorrow."

Stuck on Stupid will return at the end of the weekly competitions to face the other winners.

Pianist to the president

David Osborne, pianist at Caesars Palace, will be featured in back-to-back weekend performances in Washington .

On Saturday he will play for President and Mrs. Bush and invited guests at the White House. On Dec. 16 he will perform for a dinner honoring military VIPs and their families.

Osborne has performed at the White House for the last five presidents, earning him the title "pianist to the presidents."
