Letter: Parking spaces reserved for good reason

I was especially pleased to see Saturday's article in the Las Vegas Sun by Mike Trask on ticketing illegal parking in handicapped spaces.
Some 15 to 20 years ago, after my brother suffered a severe stroke and was in a wheelchair, I "hauled" him around to do his shopping. I was particularly incensed when I saw someone with no sticker or license parking in the reserved space.
When I happened to be in a parking lot (not when I transported him), and saw a violation, I would write on a slip of paper "This parking space is reserved for the PHYSICALLY handicapped," and place it on their windshield. One time, after seeing two teenage boys in a small pickup truck do it, I parked quickly, and followed them into the store. Then I confronted them with that same statement, turned and left - leaving their mouths hanging open!
