Letter: Gibbons should return his pay
Friday, Dec. 1, 2006 | 7:21 a.m.
This letter is regarding the Nov. 24 article by Lisa Mascaro in the Las Vegas Sun about Congressman Jim Gibbons' plans for continuing to represent the people of Nevada in the U.S. Congress. According to the article, Gov.-elect Gibbons does not plan to return to Washington to work on Nevada citizens' business for the remaining session of Congress this year because he's too busy.
I wonder if Congressman Gibbons would consider returning his pay for time not worked to the government. I believe that people (including congressmen) get paid for time worked, and not paid as an entitlement.
