Letter: Charity does not require a return gift
Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006 | 7:29 a.m.
Is there some way we can get charitable organizations to stop sending us return address labels and note pads, etc., with our name imprinted. I receive hundreds of these every week from well-intentioned groups hoping to get a donation. Who writes letters anymore?
Most of these attractive gifts go in the trash. Most of our donations must be spent on printing and mailing them. I am now more likely to contribute to an organization that doesn't include a "gift."
