Letter: Politicians must walk a mile in our shoes

It's been around before on the Internet, and I think it's a good idea, although it will never happen. To solve a lot of the taxpayer problems in this country, all congressmen, senators and every government employee who is living on perks should be made to turn in their limos, ride business class on regular airlines, and have their pensions and insurance benefits overturned to Social Security and Medicare like the rest of us.

Only then, when they can see how the majority of this country have to function, will they do anything about solving its problems.
