FLASHPOINT for Aug 26, 2006

Sheriff's candidate Jerry Airola doesn't talk about his cop experience anymore. That's because it has been exposed as a myth. So now he is hyping his business successes and using that as his campaign against Undersheriff Doug Gillespie. That's all he talked about at a forum this week - how Metro isn't managed well and he's the guy to do it well. And then on Friday, a release came out touting his company, Silver State Helicopters, as the 12th fastest-growing private company in the nation. "Jerry Airola is delighted to be included amongst such a strong, dynamic group of business people, and hopes to continue to grow his business across the nation," the release said. Really? Well, how is he going to do that if he's sheriff?
