Letter: Personal attacks are not the way to power
Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006 | 7:43 a.m.
For the last number of years, all we've heard from Democrats is a cacophony of yelping and hollerin', like a child who doesn't get his way.
We have yet to hear one single viable new idea come from the Democrats to deal with the spectrum of problems affecting both Nevada and America. Where are the ideas, where is the vision, and why do the liberals think they can run my life better than moi?
I want to hear about new programs and how these programs will be funded. I want to hear about paring down the size of government, especially getting rid of nonessential "civil servants." I want proposed solutions, not personal attacks. I will just turn off any program where personal attack is the agenda.
I will not vote for a person who makes personal attack his or her primary doctrine - that's all we saw during the primaries; no ideas were being offered, just personal attacks. I will vote for a person who has ideas, can clearly articulate those ideas and also can show how those ideas are funded - that's important, too.
If Democrats ever hope to be put again into leadership positions, they need new ideas!
