Letter: Cheney not one to talk about combat

Columnist E.J. Dionne has reported that, concerning Sen. Joe Lieberman's defeat, Vice President Dick Cheney stated, "They clearly are betting on the proposition that ultimately they can break the will of the American people in terms of our (my emphasis) ability to stay in the fight and complete the task." Oh?
Does that imply that despite Cheney's several deferments from service in Vietnam, apparently because of other priorities, he is now willing to obtain a presidential exception to enlist in the Marines and join them in Iraq?
