Letter: Things aren’t perfect but could get worse

Regarding Richard Mundy's July 31 letter on Republican control of Washington, I do feel that there have been mistakes made and that not enough is being done on some key issues.
However, take the illegal immigrant problem Richard brings up. We know what Democrats want to do on that one. In a recent election in San Diego, the Democratic candidate was urging illegal immigrants to vote!
On the war on terror, Democrats would wait and fight it here rather than over there. And working people would pay more in taxes.
Things may not be perfect or even great, but Mundy is wrong when he says Democrats could not do worse. They could and have (remember President Carter?).
