Letter: No more rationalizing election of Bush
Saturday, April 29, 2006 | 7:27 a.m.
Remember the constant mantras from conservatives of how happy they were that Al Gore and John Kerry were not elected president because, they would exclaim, what bad shape we'd be in if they had.
You don't hear any more nonsense like that from them anymore, as President Bush's inability to cope with Iraq, the sharp increase in the national debt, his inaction on the illegal immigrant problem, the FEMA disaster, and now the gasoline crisis, have convinced most Americans that he is incompetent.
Bush's approval rating is in the low-30 percentage range and sinking. Intelligent Republican congressmen are distancing themselves from him and his policies and look ahead with trepidation to the 2006 election. Just remember that electing Republicans to national office will enable Mr. Bush to continue his errant ways.
