Letter: Veterans are who deserve benefits
Tuesday, April 25, 2006 | 7:07 a.m.
The Sun's April 22 edition included a letter from Stan Erasmus, who served his country during World War II.
He makes valid points regarding the benefits given illegal immigrants while denying the very U.S. citizens who served their country. How do we insist that senators and congressmen act to correct these unfair situations?
Our veterans deserve far more than they are receiving. The illegal immigrants should be denied such benefits. On the humanitarian side, we must be sympathetic but that doesn't mean that we should have to support them in any way.
It is truly an upside-down world when we take from those who saved this country ... and give to those who often just take.
