Letter: Bush administration the worst in history
Monday, April 17, 2006 | 7:25 a.m.
The present Bush administration is the worst administration in the history of this great Republic. First of all, our borders are wide open. It doesn't take a "rocket scientist" to figure that out. Over 870,000 illegals entered the United States last year. Our sea ports are run by foreign governments. Only 5 percent of the containers that are shipped into this country are opened and searched. The Bush administration has not made this country safer. Actually, the opposite is true.
The Bush administration hates dissent. It doesn't really believe in the Bill of Rights and it does most everything legal and illegal that it can to discourage and stop those who speak out against them.
The war in Iraq is about oil and the Bush administration's determination to establish a U.S. military presence in the Middle East. The Saudis have pretty much forced us to dismantle our military bases in that country, so the next best thing, in the minds of the Bushites, is to establish military bases in Iraq. One of the main goals of the present administration is to invade Iran and establish a "puppet government" in that country. The oil in Iran is simply too tempting to ignore.
I commend the military generals who are starting to speak out about the war in Iraq, and I believe they are correct in asking for Rummy's resignation. They are all retired generals, which tells me that they no longer fear the Bush administration, and they feel they can speak openly about the situation. Any general who is still on active duty who speaks his mind will find himself "cut off at the knees" by the Bush administration. That's why only the retired generals are speaking out.
