Letter: Ignorance is no excuse this time

Regarding the Defense Department's plan to detonate 700 tons of explosives on June 2 at the Nevada Test Site:

Let's look back to those nostalgic days of the '50s, when it was atomic party time for Las Vegans as well as tourists, as they watched the giant mushroom cloud erupt. How uninformed they were - how completely innocent! Little did they know of the resulting health hazards.

Well here we are today - but now we are fully aware of the dangers. Countries worldwide will be in total disagreement.

As to Sen. Harry Reid and Rep. Shelley Berkley: We are gratefully dependent upon their help to put an end to this nightmarish plan!
