Boaters are having fairly good success for striped bass in the Las Vegas Wash Arm, with most of the fish weighing around two pounds. Jigging, drifting with anchovies and trolling are all catching stripers.
The top water bite has never gotten going in the Boulder Basin, and very few stripers are being caught from boils.
One pair of anglers reported that they gave up fishing from shore and now fish from a boat by the tires at Lake Mead Marina where they are catching plump stripers that weigh around a pound. They are catching the fish with cut anchovies. Catfish that weighed approximately 12 and 14 pounds have been caught deep near the tires during the past two weeks.
One angler reported to the Nevada Department of Wildlife that he continues to find small stripers around the Meadows in the Overton Arm. Most of the fish weigh under a pound, and he is catching them with anchovies that are placed on a jig head. Larger stripers are being found around Fish Island, also in the Overton Arm.
Striped bass are being caught above and below Cottonwood Cove with anchovies and squid. The better area is around the narrows above Cottonwood. Fish continue to be small with most weighing a pound or less.
Largemouth bass fishing has been fair for anglers using spinner baits and crank baits with Haymeadow producing the better action.
