CARSON CITY -- Justice of the Peace Daniel Ward of Fallon has denied allegations in a 15-count complaint that he fixed traffic tickets, helped his son get out of jail and aided friends in criminal cases.
Ward, through is attorney, Scott Freeman of Reno, filed a 25-page answer Tuesday to the complaint by the state Commission on Judicial Discipline. David Sarnowski, executive director of the commission, said a hearing will probably be set "for after the first of the year."
Ward denies he ever asked Deputy District Attorney Russell Smith to fix a traffic ticket for the wife of Deputy Sheriff Richard Hickox or for Justice Court employee Meghan Madrigan.
In both cases, the district attorney's office dropped the charges.
