Fall crafts fair at Club Fortune
The Myron Heaton Chorale will host a Fall Crafts Fair from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Club Fortune Casino on Racetrack Road and Boulder Highway in Henderson. Items for sale will include toys, pottery, gift items, clothing, jewelry, crafts, art work and beverages.

Bowl-a-thon set at Suncoast
The Southern Nevada Domestic Violence Task Force's eighth annual Bowl-A-Thon will be from noon-3 p.m Oct. 15 at the Suncoast. The event will have a competitive section for those bowlers wishing to show their skills. Awards will be given for two game combined high score -- male and female divisions and First Turkey. The "loiterers division" will be for those who want to come and have fun. Awards for high and low scores as well as kids division.
The $35 entry fee provides participants bowling, shoes, refreshments and a commemorative T-shirt. A silent auction and raffle will also be available.

Housing fair offered
A Housing Fair will be from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Consumer Credit Counseling Service at 2650 S. Jones Blvd.
Participants will learn about the free government grants available to first time homebuyers. Participating lenders will discuss available loan products. Also in attendance will be Nevada Power, Housing and Urban Development, Las Vegas Valley Water District and the Clark County Fire Department.

Parkinson's Group meeting set
The American Parkinson Disease Association's Henderson/Green Valley Parkinson's Support Group will hold a discussion at 1 p.m. Thursday Oct. 13 at the Presbyterian Church of Green Valley, 1798 Wigwam Parkway.

NLV hosts 10K race
The North Las Vegas Parks and Recreation Department will begin its fifth annual Northern Exposure 10K Race and 2-Mile Family Run/Walk presented by Pardee Homes at 8 a.m. Oct. 8 beginning and ending at James Seastrand Park, 6330 Camino Eldorado, North Las Vegas.
The 10K Race course traverses many types of terrain and different elevations and winds through the developing communities. Cash prizes and awards will be given to the top three overall finishers; the top three masters (40 and over) finishers, and all age division winners.
The 2-Mile Family Run/Walk is a completely separate course and is ideal for families, participants with strollers, and those walking with their dog. Both courses wind through the master-planned community of Eldorado.
Following the race, the event continues with an exhibition by North Las Vegas Police Department K-9 Teams and a free Community Health Fair. A variety of the health care providers will be available to answer all of the community's health care needs. The event will also feature music by Rocky Gordon.
The Northern Northern Exposure 10K Race and 2-Mile Family Run/Walk is presented by the City of North Las Vegas and Pardee Homes, a sponsor since the race's inception. Additional sponsors include Poggemeyer, Valley Hospital, Southwest Airlines, American Asphalt and Grading, North Vista Hospital, Nevada State Bank, and Sign-A-Rama.
