Rachel N. Johnson
Rachel N. Johnson, 82, of Henderson died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born June 23, 1923, in Brigham City, Utah. A lifelong resident of Las Vegas, Henderson and Boulder City, she was a homemaker and a Las Vegas High School graduate.
She is survived by one daughter, Paula Abercrombie of Las Vegas; one son, Mark Johnson of Dallas; and one brother, Lynn Nelson of Idaho.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling private services.
Terry Lee Ray
Terry Lee Ray, 42, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 19, 1963, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a landscaper.
He is survived by one daughter, Tina M. Ray of Missouri; his father, Calvin L. Ray of Nevada; his mother and stepfather, Carol A. and LeRoyn E. Restorff of Idaho; and three brothers, James F. Ray and Michael A. Ray, both of Nevada, and Ricky A. Ray of Idaho.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
The family suggests donations to Terry's daughter, Tina Ray.
Karen Lee Schmidt
Karen Lee Schmidt, 61, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 13, 1944, in Murray, Utah. A resident for 19 years, she was a licensed practical nurse.
She is survived by three sons, Brett Jensen of Harlem, Ga., Burke Jensen of North Las Vegas and Blaine Jensen of Thomson of Georgia; two daughters, Brenda Jensen of Augusta, Ga., and Becky Arnold of Martinez, Ga.; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Wednesday in the LDS Francisco Park Ward. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the Arthritis Foundation of Nevada, 2450 Chandler Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89120.
Jay Aveon Tolefree and Jay Syngerian Tolefree
Jay Aveon Tolefree, 27, and his son, Jay Syngerian Tolefree, 2, both of North Las Vegas, died Wednesday in North Las Vegas. Jay Aveon was born Feb. 14, 1978, and Jay Syngerian was born April 21, 2003, both in Las Vegas.
Jay Aveon is survived by his companion and Jay Syngerian's mother, Latisha Dailey, and Jay Aveon's stepson and Jay Syngerian's brother, Aliyone Finley, both of North Las Vegas; and Jay Aveon's grandmother and Jay Syngerian's great-grandmother, Mersey Lindsey of Las Vegas.
Jay Aveon is also survived by one daughter, Michelle Tolefree, and his mother, Virginia Tolefree, both of Las Vegas; his father, Jay Tolefree of North Las Vegas; and two brothers, Quincy Tolefree and Ramon Kirkling, both of Las Vegas.
Jay Syngerian is also survived by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Dailey, and his great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Howard, and Tommie Lou Deer, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
