James F. Fountain
James F. Fountain, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born July 7, 1928, in Newton, Texas. A resident for 43 years, he was a retired landscaper and a member of the Teamsters Local 995.
He is survived by three daughters, Victoria Bravo, Rebecca Garcia and Eva Grice, all of Las Vegas; five brothers; four sisters; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Cemetery.
Merrill Gilbert
Merrill Gilbert, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 16, 1937, in Salem, Ore. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired heavy equipment salesman.
He is survived by one daughter, Trina Moody of Las Vegas; two sons, Troy Jason Gilbert of Los Angeles and Adam Clay Gilbert of Hillsboro, Ore.; and three grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling private arrangements.
Bertha Goodman
Bertha Goodman, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born July 1, 1916, in Detroit. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired bookkeeper and entrepreneur.
She is survived by one son, Daniel A. Goodman of Nipomo, Calif.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., handled arrangements.
Patricia Hines-Shaw
Patricia Hines-Shaw, 53, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born March 20, 1942, in New York. A resident for 21 years, she was a nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Timotheous Shaw; two daughters, Angela Hines and Kandise Shaw, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Richard Hines and Julio Hines, both of New York; three sisters, Wendlyne Hines of Virginia, Denice Hines of New York and Connie Hines of Maryland; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-6 p.m. today in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be at noon Friday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Davis Memorial Park.
Edmond R. Leriche
Edmond R. Leriche, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 23, 1928, in Highland, Ill. A resident for 39 years, he was a retired electrician and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Benedita Leriche; and one son, Glen D. Leriche of Nevada.
Visitation is scheduled 1-2:15 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Robert Lee Polwort
Robert Lee Polwort, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. Born April 11, 1944, in Enid, Okla., he was a chef.
He is survived by one daughter, Shelly Hill of Las Vegas; and two sons, Russ Polwort and Doug Polwort, both of New Hampshire.

Laura Ann St. Onge-Bassler
Laura Ann St. Onge-Bassler, 49, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 27, 1956, in Germany. A resident for 39 years, she owned a health food store and was a member of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.
She is survived by her husband, Darold L.; two sons, Bryon Pace of Boulder City and Erin St. Onge of Bakersfield, Calif.; her mother, Dorothy L. Kahl, her father, Joseph Kahl, and one brother, Joseph Kahl Jr., all of Boulder City.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be noon Saturday in Palm Chapel, Henderson.
Margaret Ann Sleigh
Margaret Ann Sleigh, 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born May 15, 1937, in Palmyra, Tenn. A resident for two years, she owned the Gold N Heart Jewelry store in Simi Valley, Calif., for 22 years.
She is survived by her companion, Gary Sleigh; two daughters, Melinda Peterson of Las Vegas and Connie Sleigh of Simi Valley; one sister, Blanche Crockett of Palmyra; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.
The family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Association, 2785 E. Desert Inn Road, Suite 140, Las Vegas, NV 89121.
Louis B. Thomas
Louis B. Thomas, 83, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. Born Jan. 15, 1922, in Shreveport, La., he was a shoemaker and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Henrietta; and one daughter, Patricia Haynes of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 3-5 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Salvation Army Church, 2828 E. Cheyenne Ave., North Las Vegas. A rosary will be said 10:20 a.m. Monday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Marguerite Winans
Marguerite Winans, 96, of Henderson died Monday in a local care center. She was born May 26, 1909, in Ada, Okla. A resident for eight years, she was a retired real estate agent.
She is survived by one daughter, Gail Doeppel of Henderson; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
