Wine tasting will benefit hospice
Nathan Adelson Hospice will host its sixth annual Wine Tasting Extravaganza from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Gaudin Jaguar-Porsche-Aston Martin, 7200 W. Sahara Ave., to benefit Nathan Adelson Hospice pediatric program.
Tickets are $40 and can be purchased by caling 938-3910 or 938-3939.
Meeting scheduled on long-term care
The UNLV Division of Educational Outreach will host a town hall meeting on long-term care from 9:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 1 in Room 133 of the UNLV Paradise Campus.
The meeting titled "Long Term Care: Helping Your Parents and Yourself Age and Live Independently," will feature prominent speakers in the fields of aging, elder law, long-term care insurance, geriatric care, and government aging services.
The goal of the meeting is to outline resources available in the community to participants that will allow them to maximize their ability to maintain privacy, dignity, and freedom of choice during a longer life.

Assemblywoman Sharron Angle
will be speaking at the Nevada Republican Men's Club luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 3 at Ellis Island at Koval Lane. She will speak about a "Nevada-style" Prop 13 and controlling government spending. Call 361-6002 or 869-9903 for more information.
The Rock Christian Church will host a yard
sale 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at 5512 Oakview Falls Court, to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina. All proceeds will be given to Habitat for Humanity to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Call Holly at 263-3834 or Emily at 808-5117.
St. Christopher Catholic Church,
1840 N. Bruce St., North Las Vegas, will host it 52nd annual bazaar, "One Family in Christ" from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday Oct. 1-2. Call 642-1154.
