Dennis Duane Crites
Dennis Duane Crites, 71, of Henderson died Sept. 11 in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 3, 1934, in Minot, N.D. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired manager in the space technology industry, a Korean War Marine Corps veteran, a member of Club Sport of Green Valley and Black Mountain Detachment of the Marine Corps League.
He is survived by his wife, Anita E.; one daughter, Joann Hellerman of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; one son, John E. Crites of Henderson; one brother, Mike Reinke of Auburn, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 12:40 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the Black Mountain Detachment of the Marine Corps League, Ron Mosner, 482 Carmel Mesa Drive, Henderson, NV 89012.
JoAnne LaPlante
JoAnne LaPlante, 42, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 18, 1963, in the Philippines. A resident for eight years, she was a retail sales cashier.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; one daughter, Charmell Moraleja, and her mother, Carol Moraleja, both of San Diego; her father, Mariano Viado of Carson, Calif.; two sisters, Carla Santos and Janice Viado, and two brothers, Lyndon Viado and Christopher Aure, all of San Diego.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, Henderson.
The family suggests donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 6280 S. Valley View Blvd., Suite 342, Las Vegas, NV 89118.
Judith Wolper Massa
Judith Wolper Massa, 86, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. She was born Aug. 13, 1919, in Bayonne, N.J. A resident for more than 50 years, she was a retired public school teacher.
She is survived by one son, Jacques Massa of Henderson; one daughter, Sally Massa of Seattle; one brother, Leon Wolper of Palm City, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services were scheduled at noon today in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.
The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Ted Neff
Ted Neff, 89, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 14, 1916, in Texas. A resident for one year, he was a retired Air Force warrant officer, a member of the Commanders Club, Disabled American Veterans and United Seniors Association.
He is survived by one son, Ted Neff; two daughters, Darlene Hurst and Esther Kopp; four brothers, Jimmy Neff, Bill Neff, Melvin Neff and Joe Neff; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling pending arrangements.
Modesto 'Tito' Regalado Jr.
Modesto 'Tito' Regalado Jr., 34, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born May 8, 1971, in Bowie, Texas. A resident for 10 years, he was a retail salesman.
He is survived by his companion, Dennis Heer; his father, Roberto Gomez; his mother, Marcie Martinez; and two sisters, Mary-Helen Morgan and Stella Noguez.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Thomas F. Spindler Sr.
Thomas F. Spindler Sr., 64, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 19, 1941, in Boston. A resident for 35 years, he was an automotive parts salesman and a Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by one son, Thomas F. Spindler Jr. of Las Vegas; one daughter, Tina M. Spindler of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Ruth C. Utley
Ruth C. Utley, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 21, 1925, in New Orleans. A resident for more than 40 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; four daughters, Cris Parker, Georgia Garlin and Peggi Suiter, all of Las Vegas. and Robin Wheat of Fort Bragg, Calif.; two brothers, Alan Ranch of Slidell, La., and Mike Ranch of New Orleans; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Jack (Muriel) Werner
Mrs. Jack (Muriel) Werner, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 14, 1923, in Monroe, La. A resident for 43 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Jack F. Werner Jr. of Washington, D.C.; four daughters, Jackie Ramer of Carson City, Ellean Feathers of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Barbara Denis and Rita Brown, both of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon-5 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be noon Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Main.
The family suggests donations to the Church of Las Vegas.
