A 47-year-old man who was reported missing from Kingman, Ariz., was found dead in the back of a vehicle at the Riverside Hotel and Casino on Saturday with several gunshot wounds, Metro Police said.
The vehicle was parked at the casino for several days with the body inside, police said.
Alex Junior Lackey had been reported missing Sept. 14, said Trish Carter, spokeswoman for the Mohave County Sheriff's office in Kingman.
He had a 1992 Ford Explorer, and Metro reported to the Mohave County Sheriff's office that Lackey was found in that Explorer, she said.
Lackey appeared to have been shot, Metro Sgt. Ken Hefner said. The discovery was made after a casino patron who had walked past the vehicle complained of the foul odor emanating from it, police said.
Metro Police arrived on the scene and discovered Lackey's body inside a container in the back of the vehicle. Hefner refused to describe the container, but Rick Armstrong, director of security for the Riverside who was at the scene on Saturday, said the container was a cardboard box.
