Pooh & Co. to visit the Orleans Arena
Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005 | 8:02 a.m.
Look out Las Vegas.
Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore will take audiences on a musical journey Wednesday through Sunday when the premiere of "Disney Live! Winnie the Pooh" hits the stage at the Orleans Arena.
The multimillion-dollar touring production, set in the Hundred Acre Wood, is a song and dance journey that tells the story of friendship as the jovial inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood plan a surprise party for Winnie the Pooh.
Joining Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore in the fun are Rabbit, Kanga, Roo and Owl. The Hunny Helpers assist in story telling. Songs include "Rumbly In My Tumbly" and "The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers."
This is the first time Feld Entertainment has worked with Disney animators to create digitally projected stage backgrounds inspired by the Winnie the Pooh stories and Disney's. In addition to the costumed characters, there are towering trees, blowing leaves and butterflies on the interactive three-dimensional Broadway style set the characters call home.
The show will be presented at 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $20 to $55. For more information and tickets, call 284-7777.
