John W. Powers
John W. Powers, 74, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. He was born March 14, 1931, in Chicago. A resident for four years, he was a retired real estate agent and a Korean War Navy veteran.
He is survived by one brother, Thomas F. Powers of Henderson.
Visitation is private. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be noon Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Jacobo Sandoval
Jacobo Sandoval, 93, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. He was born Sept. 7, 1912, in San Isidro, N.M. A resident for 44 years, he was a retired federal government custodian and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by three daughters, Annabelle Sandoval, Esther Gonzales and Elsa Gonzales, all of Henderson; one son, Tony Sandoval of San Isidro; 18 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday with a 6 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will follow at noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Dorothy M. Skowron
Dorothy M. Skowron, 65, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 28, 1939, in Chicago. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired credit analyst.
She is survived by her husband, Richard A.; one son, Timothy E. Skowron of Pleasanton, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Association, 2785 E. Desert Inn Road, Las Vegas, NV 89121.
