Lied will host Harvest Festival
The second annual Harvest Festival will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lied Discovery Museum, 833 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
The festival will feature craft activities and demonstrations throughout the museum for all ages, including veggie-n-fruit print making, making stick fences, creating leaf wreaths, a weaving demonstration, and learn about the healing powers of harvested herbs from the owners of Natural Foods.
There also will be pygmy goats, rabbits, a pot-bellied pig, some ducks and Banty chickens will be running around. For more information, call 382-3445.
Pacific Islands Festival scheduled
The Las Vegas Hawaiian Civic Club and Las Vegas will present the Pacific Islands Festival from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Lorenzi Park, Washington Avenue west of Rancho Drive.
The event will feature Hawaiian foods, crafts and vendors, plus Polynesian entertainment.
There will also be activities for children, raffle giveaways, including a grand prize for two round trip tickets to Hawaii, courtesy of Hawaiian Airlines. Bring two canned food products for Community Food Bank of Clark County and receive one free raffle entry.
Admission is $2; children ages 14 and under are free. Call 382-6939.
Mothers of Multiples plan LV meeting
The Las Vegas Mothers of Multiples Club will meet from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 20 in the Wengert Room at Nevada Power Co., 6266 W. Sahara Ave.
The club advocates education and offers social support and community resources for the mothers and families of twins and higher order multiples in the Las Vegas valley.

The Salvation Army and the Red Hat Society
will team up for the sixth annual "Coats for Kids" project starting at all Albertsons stores Sept. 21 and ending Oct. 22. Coats will be picked up by various representatives of the Red Hat Society and distributed free by the Salvation Army. Call 870-4430.
