Bar raising funds for Katrina victims

Local residents will have an opportunity to listen to music and sample appetizers and drinks at Simon Kitchen and Bar at the Hard Rock Hotel from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday while raising donations to help those displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

A live performance by Bankie Banx, an international music and Reggae star, will be featured.

Donations of canned goods, clothing, toys and other donations will be accepted at the event.
