Child’s self esteem would be boosted by camp

WEEKEND EDITION

September 3-5, 2005

A school counselor said she worked with a girl for two years and finds her to be one of the "most caring and generous souls" in school.

But the girl struggles with low self-esteem. In a letter to the Sun Camp Fund, the counselor asked for help to send the girl to camp to "help her feel accepted, be successful and improve her self-esteem. She could try new things without fear of judgment or failure."

The camp fund helps send children to camp who otherwise might not be able to afford it. All donations go directly toward camp scholarships.

Help send disadvantaged children to camp by joining these latest contributors to the Sun Camp Fund: Olga Vanderpool; Thalden Foundation; Dr. P. Kay Carl; Joseph and Kathleen Bongiovi; M.
