Letter: Measures needed to curb population
Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 | 10:03 a.m.
Unless something is done soon, the world's population will double in the next 60 years and that will be a disaster. For instance, by then the number of cars will probably quadruple, considering the increase of vehicles in the emerging nations.
The big problem in limiting population is religion. I believe the United Nations should call a meeting of religious leaders of each faith and tell them they must solve the problem in their own way.
Limiting population would also lessen most of the world's problems, such as supplies of food, water, lumber and problems with constructing more roads and housing.
