Letter: Evolution akin to ‘Earth is flat’ theory
Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 | 10:03 a.m.
The entire premise of the "theory of evolution" was based on no more than a relatively few observations and misguided writings of some poor sap in the 1800s. Eerily similar to the idea that the Earth was flat or that the sun revolved around the Earth.
Theory of evolution? In order to qualify as a theory in the scientific process there must be a series of observable facts. Evolution, as far as life evolving from pond scum, therefore, can only be considered an idea akin to the Earth being flat. How did this looney idea ever become elevated to a theory in the first place?
With the understanding we have today of the complexity of DNA, and that there is no DNA evidence of species jumping now or in the past, why do a shrinking number within the scientific and sociological communities continue to hold on to patently false notions and worship the god of evolution with Darwin as their prophet? What is their religious agenda? Hmmm.
