Are Nevada Republicans in denial? Or just slow? Visitors to the state GOP's Web site on Thursday and Friday -- www.nevadagop.org -- were greeted by this blaring message: SUPPORT HARRIET MIERS FOR SUPREME COURT. The all-caps plea was accompanied by links to pro-Miers Web sites and sample e-mails to send senators. News flash, Republicans: She's history. It's time to reconcile yourselves to the fact that Harry Reid's nominee, whom you supported, was unacceptable to conservatives. And talk about being in a time warp. The GOP site also lists Ray Rawson as a state senator although he lost to Bob Beers in '04. At least Beers is listed, too. Surprisingly, Richard Nixon is not listed as president.
