Letter: Finding bin Laden would bring closure

A U.S. soldier offers medical help to a wounded Iraqi man as another stands guard at the site of a suicide attack in Baghdad on Sunday.

Finding bin Laden would bring closure

Nobody can convince me that all the technology and billions spent on the war against terrorism can't find Osama bin Laden. The only unfinished promise President Bush made to the American people after 9/11 is finding this murderer.

Why would this administration want to find the man behind this terrible tragedy? It doesn't.

If Osama is found, it's over. There then would be no need to continue spending billions on the war in Iraq. This ill-conceived war was not part of what the president promised the American people in his "we're coming to get you" speech.

The public will see the finding of Osama as the end of this tragic period and will have closure.
