Letter: No one can prove God really exists
Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005 | 10:23 a.m.
Mr. Strabala, neither myself nor the scientific community are trying to eliminate intelligent design. We believe that everyone is entitled to their beliefs and when you're talking about intelligent design you're really talking about the Intelligent Designer -- God -- and that's religion. There are plenty of places -- churches, the Bible and television programs -- that talk about God on what he did and what he still can do.
Let's say it again: There is no evidence that you or anyone else can produce that God really exists. Therefore, intelligent design should not be introduced in a science class that teaches science and the evidence supporting that science.
When Mr. Strabala mentioned the complexity of the watch, the computer, or a skyscraper being designed by an intelligent designer and that it "didn't just happen," the difference between this designer and your designer is that the designer(s) of those items can be identified and produced.
