Flashpoint for Oct. 23, 2005

Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005 | 11:03 a.m.

So the big story -- with a capital B -- after Jim Gibson announced for governor was the extra B in Jim Gibbons' name. Gibson had fun with it and Gibbons had fun right back. But they are missing the bigger name story because they are not looking at this anagrammatically. Gibbons deconstructed is Big Snob. Think what Gibson can do with that. And Gibson taken apart is Big Son. Can't do much with that. But what if you go with Sig Bon? As in good (bon is French for good) for Sig Rogich, Gibbons' GOP spinmeister? Maybe this proves Gibson really is a Republican, after all? Or is it that Gibson is good for the Republicans if he wins the primary? Hard to diagram this anagram.
