Flashpoint for Oct. 20, 2005

Henderson Mayor Jim Gibson enters the governors' race today after weeks of insinuations by primary opponent Dina Titus that he is a faux Democrat. On Wednesday the state senator took the bludgeoning to the Web -- www.JimNoDem.com. Get it? The site is brutal, funny and, briefly, ungrammatical. It exhumes news stories going back two decades to lampoon Gibson's contributions to GOP outfits (a Reagan front group!) and candidates, including Gov. Kenny Guinn and Rep. Jon Porter. It asserts Gibson snubbed the 2004 Democratic presidential caucus and wonders why he would care because "he probably wouldn't vote for them (sic) anyways." Think Titus was rushing to get this up before Gibson's big day?
