Call it the forgotten initiative. And it is a PISTOL, too -- People4s Initiative to Stop the Taking of Our Land. Talk about stretching for a clever acronym. The folks at the Nevada Policy Research Institute (NPRI) heard the plan to stop eminent domain abuses at a luncheon Tuesday. NPRI is the think tank beloved by conservatives. The tank of thinkers heard ex-Judge Don Chairez, a hero to these folks when he bucked the city of Las Vegas' eminent domain efforts, talk about the effort. Seems Kermit Waters, an eminent domain attorney, has agreed to put up quite a bit of money. And it will take a lot of cash because without a professional signature-gathering firm, this group will shoot blanks.
