Letter: Senior citizens overlooked yet again
Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005 | 10:01 a.m.
Yes, I'm a senior, I've been around this town since 1956 as a singer, dancer and a volunteer for a Catholic Charities' program for seniors; most of them are shut-ins, disabled and very low-income. Their TVs and radios are their only source of enjoyment. Once again, we must go without.
Some seniors liked listening to the Dennis Bono show on Friday evenings. That's gone.
Once again, I'll bet the younger generation stepped in here. It seems in the past 10 years we seniors are forgotten in so many ways. I'm sure this will sound trite to many.
Please don't get me wrong -- I know the young must have their turn. I also believe that we seniors are a part of the backbone of this great city.
It's true, nothing stays the same.
Please, dear young ones, remember -- we've been your age. You've never been ours.
