Letter: There are other stations similar to KJUL

We certainly agree with those who are disappointed or angered by the station's sudden abandonment of a large segment of the listening audience. The Beasley Broadcast Group's decision to change from easy listening to country will prove to be one of its worst. It ranks with its inaction in improving the station's wimpy signal that is difficult to receive in much of Henderson. The station refused to put a repeater on Black Mountain as a simple solution to that annoyance.

However, we view the change in format as a blessing in disguise. It caused us to seek and find other FM stations with a similar genre of '40s, '50s and '60s music. KQOL 93.1-FM and KSNE 106.5-FM are two examples of stations that play many of the same selections formerly featured on KJUL. Those stations have stronger signals and provide a new, refreshing mix of the old and the newer songs.

So we say let KJUL and the Beasley Group fall by the wayside. They will not be missed for very long, as people adapt to the idea of tuning to other stations.
