Letter: No comparison with Pfc. England, fascists

Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005 | 8:19 a.m.

The conviction of Pfc. Lynndie R. England for her role in the Abu Ghraib prison scandal was unjust. Islamic fascists cut off the heads of their captives, and we equate that with a 22-year-old private joking in front of a camera?

The Bush administration's attempt to placate the Islamic world is the real reason for England's conviction. Tolerating the intolerance of Islam is not tolerance. It is savagery.
