Flashpoint for Nov. 28, 2005

Monday, Nov. 28, 2005 | 9:20 a.m.

Is Oscar Goodman ever serious? I'm not talking about the governor's race. No, the mouth that roars has thrown some insiders into a tizzy by actually whispering about running for the U.S. Senate against John Ensign - seriously, it appears, but appearances can be deceiving, especially with him. Some say Goodman long has coveted a spot in the Club of 100, ever since he experienced the U.S. Senate when he unsuccessfully tried to stop federal Judge Harry Claiborne from being impeached many years ago. And don't forget - national pollster John Zogby has found Goodman could compete with Ensign. Could he be serious? Is he ever serious? Mmore to the point: Should he ever be taken seriously?
