Flashpoint for Nov. 20, 2005
Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005 | 8:06 a.m.
Here's some advice if you come across ex-Clark County Commissioner and convicted felon Lance Malone: Be careful what you say. Seems the ex-cop has a habit of surreptitiously taping people to save his own hide. Recently Malone secretly taped his ex-boss' girlfriend to try to get some exculpatory evidence in his political corruption cases. Five years ago, he clandestinely taped a Station Casinos executive to try to find out who sent out an anonymous mailer that helped cost Malone re-election -- he eventually sued the company and got a settlement. Maybe the new tape will help him. But there is something fitting about a dude who tapes people now under indictment after being secretly taped by the feds.
