Happy Trails: Western-themed park opens

The grand opening of Western Trails Neighborhood Park at W. Warm Springs Road and Rogers Street in Southwest Las Vegas was held November 17, 2005. The new seven-acre park combines aneighborhood recreational area with equestrian trails. The project was built under $3.4 million. It includes playgrounds, covered wagon-style picnic shelters, a 50-foot windmill and other western-themed and desert landscaping. More projects are planned by the county to build additional facilities for equestrian enthusiasts such as practice and competition arenas and miles of equestrian trails within this area.
