Letter: Outstanding fines a failure of justice
Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005 | 10:27 a.m.
Regarding the Sun's Nov. 9 story, "What a fix we're in":
What a fine fix we're in -- taxpayers that is. The amount of dollars reported by Matt Pordum's story on unpaid traffic fines is disgraceful. The justice courts should all be ashamed, and their administrators fired for lack of economic sense.
To allow dollars to build to the amounts reported is unforgivable. No wonder no one is concerned about their driving habits and tickets in the Las Vegas area. Who is going to enforce the fines? Another example of our justice system not being held accountable!
