Garry Lee Abbs
Garry Lee Abbs, 58, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 29, 1946, in Upland, Calif. A resident for 27 years, he was a dry wall contractor, a Vietnam War Army veteran and a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association International.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; four sons, Garry L. Abbs II and Rob Abbs, both of Henderson, Michael Abbs of Las Vegas, and Steve Abbs of Fairfield, Calif.; two brothers, Larry Abbs of Kingman, Ariz., and Jerry Abbs of Bakersfield, Calif.; and one grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.
Lois Beavor
Lois Beavor, 55, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born Oct. 23, 1949, in Winnepeg, Manitoba. A resident for 35 years, she was a retired hospital nursing supervisor.
She is survived by two daughters, Claudia Romo and Patti Martinez, both of Henderson; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be noon Friday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Patricia Lynn Buhecker Blazek and Samuel Michael 'Black Sam' Blazek Jr.
Patricia Lynn Buhecker Blazek, 63, of St. George, Utah, died Sunday in St. George, Utah, and her husband, Samuel Michael "Black Sam" Blazek Jr., 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in St. George. Patricia was born March 30, 1942, in Salt Lake City. She was a showgirl, a Bonanza airline employee and homemaker. Samuel was born Sept. 7, 1921, in Pittsburgh. He was a dealer, pit boss, shift supervisor, surveillance worker, casino manager at many local casinos including the Pioneer Club, Golden Nugget, Royal Nevada Casino, Gay '90s, Whiskey Pete's, Frontier, Landmark, Dunes, Klondike and Excalibur and was an Air Force veteran from 1941-1945.
They are survived by one son, Jacob Michael Blazek, and granddaughter, Monique Lee Blazek, both of Las Vegas.
Samuel is also survived by son, Gary Samuel Blazek of Boise, Idaho; one brother, Adam Blazek of Pittsburgh; and one sister, Helen McFadden of Garden City, Pa.
Patricia is also survived by her mother, Wanda Buhecker, and one sister, Karen B. Knudsen, both of Sterling, Utah.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Washington City Cemetery, Washington City, Utah.
James E. Case
James E. Case, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 15, 1933, in Arkansas. A resident for four years, he was a geophysicist for the federal government.
He is survived by his wife, Irma; one son, James E. Case Jr.; four daughters, Ida C. Liles, Marian Jost, Stephanie Case and Melanie Case; one brother, George Case; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.
Claudia Clay
Claudia Clay, 35, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born March 12, 1970, in New York. A resident for 10 years, she was an insurance secretary.
She is survived by three sons, Christopher Fanton of Wellsville, N.Y., Michael Solentino of Babylon, N.Y., and Evan Lambert of Las Vegas; her mother, Millie Caruso of Las Vegas; her father, Luis Dovi of Wheatley Heights, N.Y.; and one sister, Nancy Raimondo of Miami.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
Cochise Fitzhugh Couyette
Cochise Fitzhugh Couyette, 72, of Las Vegas died May 14 in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 4, 1932, in Texas. A resident for 62 years, he was an artist and owner of an art business.
He is survived by five sons, Anthony Robinson, Rory Fitzhugh, Che J. Couyette, Shelton Malone and Jean Woullard, all of Las Vegas; two daughters, Linda Couyette of Germany and Michelle Couyette of Las Vegas; one sister, Dorothy Allen of North Las Vegas; and many grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Davis' Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Donald T. Cross
Donald T. Cross, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 30, 1916, in Peoria, Ill. A resident for 37 years, he was an engineer at the Boulevard mall and a member of Engineers Local 501.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine F.; one son, Gary DuBois of Las Vegas; two daughters, Mary Partigiano and Fran Colvin, and one sister, Alice Allen, all of Illinois; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A cryptside service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Mausoleum, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Wing Gay Fong
Wing Gay Fong, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in California. He was born Aug. 27, 1925, in Canton, China. A resident for 66 years, he was a Las Vegas High School graduate, a grocer, a banker, businessman, land developer who owned many local buildings and was president of the Merchants Bureau, director of the Greater Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, National Conference of Christian and Jews, Las Vegas Rotary Club, Civilian Military Council and St. Jude's Children's Home in Boulder City.
He is survived by one son, Kenneth Fong; one daughter, Susan Fong-Brattain; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Martha Kekauililani Matsuda Goo
Martha Kekauililani Matsuda Goo, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 6, 1927, in Hana, Maui, Hawaii. A resident for 16 years, she retired as a procurement officer from the federal government.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Det Kong Goo; five sons, Richard U. Goo of Redondo Beach, Calif., Darrell M. Goo of San Luis Obispo, Calif., Dennis K. Goo of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Duane K. Goo of Topsham, Maine, and Ross K. Goo of Alameda, Calif.; three daughters, Maureen K. Goo Gaasch of Carpinteria, Calif., Doreen A. Goo of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Kathleen L. Goo of Santa Barbara, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

William A. Jones
William A. Jones, 83, of Henderson died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born July 17, 1921, in Wilson Mills, N.C. A resident for 54 years, he retired as a furnace operator at Timet in Henderson after 33 years of service and was a World War II Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Varua; and two sons, Bill and Mike.
He is survived two daughters, Sharon Tobler and Wanda; two sons, LeGrande and Gary Jones; one brother, Luther Jones; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Friday in the LDS Cholla Street chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Sanford 'Sonny' Marvin
Sanford "Sonny" Marvin, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 16, 1926, in New Jersey. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired Internal Revenue Service agent, a Navy veteran and a member of the Knights of Pythias.
He is survived by his wife, Arlette; two daughters, Lois Friedman of Woodland Hills, Calif., and Sheryl Best of Las Vegas; two sons, Samuel Marvin of Los Angeles and Alan Marvin, M.D., of Las Vegas; one sister, Rhoda Garber of Florida; and five grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Los Angeles. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.
Freda Moulton
Freda Moulton, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 20, 1919, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 47 years, she was a retired casino cashier.
She is survived by two daughters, Harriet Popp and Elaine LeBaron, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Dennis Brand of South Park, Pa., and Richard Moulton of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Sharyn Arlene Payne, 59, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 26, 1946, in New Jersey. A resident for 44 years, she was a nanny.
She is survived by her companion, Joe; one son, Jason Dix; one daughter, Tiffany O'Hara; her father, George Edward; her mother, Grace Dolores; one brother, William Payne; and two grandchildren.

Phyllis Robinson
Phyllis Robinson, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born May 18, 1938, in Denver. A resident for 30 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; two daughters, Cindy Davis and Tina Harding, both of Las Vegas; four sisters, Mary Herman of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dolly Meza, Linda Baros and Mary Ellen Barnes, all of Denver; three brothers, Raymond Santoya, Richard Santoya and Bobby Santoya, all of Denver; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Ester E. Showers, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born May 27, 1927 in Junction City, Ore. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two nieces, Lisa L. Stevenson of Kinburn, Ontario, and Lynn Kepferle of Billings, Mont.; and one nephew, Thor A. Larsen of Sacramento.

Patricia Marie Toombs
Patricia Marie Toombs, 50, of Las Vegas died Saturday. She was born Oct. 14, 1954, in Des Moines, Iowa. A resident for 15 years, she was a bartender and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jill May; and one sister, Carol Ann Baker.
She is survived by her husband, John Thomas; three sons, Randy Garrison, Demion Garrison and Shawn Garrison; two brothers, Raymond Blase and Johnny Blase; four sisters, Betty Nehring, Mary Reynolds, Carol Garrison and JoAnn Ewan; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be 1-3 p.m. Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Thomas D. Tuvin
Thomas D. Tuvin, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 26, 1924, in New York. A resident for 13 years, he was a country club manager and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Helene; three sons, Mark, Reid and Jeffrey; one daughter, Daphne; and one grandchild.
Graveside services will be 8 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Peter Yarema Jr.
Peter Yarema Jr., 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 10, 1918, in Thomaston, Conn. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired government operations officer and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen; one son, Peter "Skip" Yarema III of Las Vegas; one daughter, Jo-Ellen Yarema-Varner of Atherton, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Christ Episcopal Church, 2100 S. Maryland Parkway.
