Letter: Too much cake, too few clothes
Tuesday, May 24, 2005 | 9:09 a.m.
I just wanted to comment on the large cake that was part of the city of Las Vegas' centennial celebration. I couldn't understand why the public was only allowed an hour to get a piece of the cake. It seems a shame that the only ones that benefited from the leftovers were the pigs at RC Farms. With so many homeless people in the city, you would have thought there would have been some way to see that they had leftovers.
Also, regarding the article about Mayor Oscar Goodman and his Playboy magazine photo shoot, I feel the Web site should not have been mentioned. A lot of kids have access to computers and parents can't watch them 24/7. I brought up the Web site and I think it's something that really doesn't belong on the Internet. It was as close to pornography as you can get. Showgirls at the resorts wear more clothes than the women pictured.
