Letter: Voters should be given tax rebate

Awhile back someone came up with what I think is a great idea for the tax rebate question and one the governor and Legislature should consider.

Citizens who voted would be eligible to receive the rebates. The information should be readily available as to who would qualify.

It would likely encourage people to register, vote and be more mindful of our lawmaking and governing process.

I believe this would be a fair way to distribute the refunds. It would also eliminate the multiple rebates under the current plan of basing them on motor vehicle registrations. There would be one, coherent rebate rather than separate rebates for those who have registered fleets of automobiles, such as cabs, limousines and commercial vehicles.
