Lawrence Victor Arriaga

Lawrence Victor Arriaga, 16, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 1, 1989, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his father, Keith Navarro, his mother, Carmen Arriaga, four brothers, Roman Arriaga, Justin Arriaga, Abe Navarro and Romiro Martinez, and two sisters, Victoria Arriaga and Veronica Martinez, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 1-5 p.m. Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Jackie Bolden

Jackie Bolden, 47, of Las Vegas died May 6, in a local hospital. He was born July 9, 1957, in Louisiana. A resident for 43 years, he was a hotel shoe shiner.

He is survived by four daughters, Jakeysha Taylor, NaLeana Taylor, Jeanie Bolden, Quanette Bolden, and two sons, Jack Bolden and Myron Finley, and three brothers, Obie Washington, Tommie Washington and Clifton Washington, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Rosie Drew of Louisiana, Nicey Washington of California and Dorothy Potter of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Friendship Church of God in Christ, 2249 W. Washington Ave.

Marcelo Del Rosario Jr.

Marcelo Del Rosario Jr., 59, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 29, 1946, in Lanai City, Hawaii. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired iron worker and a former member of Iron Workers Local 433.

He is survived by his wife, Violet; four daughters, Bonnie Steiber and Benjalynn McCreedy, both of Henderson, Kelly-Ann Bacon of Mobile, Ala., and Kimberly Del Rosario of Phoenix; four sons, Baron Lizares, Bensen Lizares and Benjamin Lizares, all of Henderson and Kevin Del Rosario of Phoenix; his mother, Constancia Del Rosario of Honolulu; two brothers, Boni Del Rosario of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Alfred Del Rosario of Belton, Texas; four sisters, Fely Buendia, Lorraine Saffrey and Gloria-Ann Gregory, all of Honolulu and Stephanie-Ann Del Rosario of Hagerstown, Md.; 27 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until a 5 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Jack W. Hallahan

Jack W. Hallahan, 94, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Jan. 31, 1911, in Atlantic City, N.J.. A resident for 60 years, he was a retired owner-operator of a trucking inspection company and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by three stepdaughters, Bona Bock of Yuba City, Calif., Keran Yates of Pahrump and Lora Gibson of Henderson; one stepson, Tony Dillard of Henderson; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Friday in the LDS Palo Verde chapel. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

George Arvid Harris

George Arvid Harris, 68, of Pahrump died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 31, 1936, in Beatrice, Neb. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired owner-operator of a dry cleaning establishment and a Korean War Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Dupray of Valley Center, Calif., and La Francine Brown of Pahrump; three sons, Steven Lee Harris of Long Beach, Calif., Thomas George Harris of La Habra, Calif., and Joseph Todd Harris of Las Vegas; one sister, Carolyn Magliari of Costa Mesa, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 4:30 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services are private.

Donald E. Lesh

Donald E. Lesh, 57, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born July 2, 1947, in Portland, Ore. A resident for 26 years, he was a certified public accountant and a veteran of the National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Caron Schwahn.

Natalina Mezza

Natalina Mezza, 80, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 25, 1924, in Detroit. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired executive secretary for a department store.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Fasano of Henderson and Ilene Decker of Flagstaff, Ariz.

Visitation is scheduled 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Nereida Nieves

Nereida Nieves, 58, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born March 24, 1947, in Puerto Rico. A resident for 16 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the Moose and the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Ramon; three daughters, Frances Gross, Helen Robinett and Gloria Delcarmen Maldonado, and three sons, Francisco Mendez Jr., William Mendez and Ramon Antonio Nieves Jr., all of Las Vegas; 27 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

James A. Payne

James A. Payne, 70, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 9, 1934, in Ocilla, Ga. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired utility company line supervisor, a Vietnam War Air Force veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10057.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; three sons, Charles Williams, Michael Williams and Jerome Payne, and four daughters, Irma Williams, Ella Calhoun, Mildred Payne and Thejuania Jackson, all of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Dorothy Schneider

Dorothy Schneider, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 30, 1927, in Missouri. A resident for 26 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by one son, John McDonald of Las Vegas; two daughters, Patricia Stangl and Peggy Irwin, both of Harrison, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Hector Joseph Silvas

Hector Joseph Silvas, 77, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born March 23, 1928, in Los Angeles. A resident for 41 years, he was a retired plasterer.

He was preceded in death by one son, Andrew Ruben Silvas of Las Vegas.

He is survived by three daughters, Susana Maria Silvas-Kern of Las Vegas, Loraine Vasquez of Bakersfield, Calif., and Bernice Felli of Radcliff, Ky.; two sons, Hector J. Silvas Jr. and Manuel Silvas of Bakersfield; six sisters; six brothers; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be in California. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Ryan Stevens

Ryan Stevens, 20, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 24, 1984, in Las Vegas. He was a purchasing agent in flooring.

He is survived by his parents, Linda and Russell Stevens, two sisters, Melissa Dean and Megan Stevens, and one brother, Russ Stevens, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Joan F. Stone

Joan F. Stone, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 5, 1927, in Teaneck, N.J. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Albert; one son, Bradley H. Stone of Las Vegas; one sister, Ann C. Cartwright of Ramsey, N.J.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Arthur P. Truffin

Arthur P. Truffin, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 1, 1924, in Ohio. A resident for 23 years, he was an auto body shop mechanic and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Andrew Truffin, one daughter, Michelle Little, and one sister, Mary Jane Brady, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Ted Truffin of Ohio; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.

William Zurbas

William Zurbas, 84, of Boulder City died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 9, 1920, in Greece. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired hotel entrepreneur, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association.

He is survived by one daughter, Maria Fisher of Salida, Calif.; two sons, Kristos Zurbas of Mesquite and Nikkos Zurbas of Henderson; two sisters, Pauline Gabriel of Carol Stream, Ill., and Helen Baker of Boca Raton, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 2500 Pinto Lane. Graveside services will follow at noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
