Rhonda Lynn Basmajian

Rhonda Lynn Basmajian, 46, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A sales clerk in the grocery industry, she was born Jan. 28, 1959, in Georgia. She was a member of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and Redrock Women of the Moose.

She is survived by her husband, Steven; two daughters, Crystal Basmajian and Summer Basmajian, and her mother, Patsy Underwood, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Brian Redding of Battle Ground, Wash.; and one granddaughter.

A memorial service is pending. Valley Memorial Crematory, 3919 Raymert Drive, Las Vegas, is handling arrangements.

Fay Baumgartner

Fay Baumgartner, 68, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born April 4, 1937, in Staten Island, N.Y. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James; one daughter, Diane Occhiuzzi of Henderson; one son, Gene Occhiuzzi of Oakland, Maine; one stepdaughter, Dawn Biales of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; one stepson, Daniel Baumgartner of Arcadia, Calif.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Robert Bruce

Robert Bruce, 81, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care center. He was born Jan. 25, 1924, in Marquette, Mich. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired retail sales agent and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa; two sons, Scott Bruce of Odessa, Mich., and Robert Bruce of Temecula, Calif.; and three daughters, Christine Bernard of Nevada, Lorna, and Juliann Castro of Santee, Calif.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Frances DeLost

Frances DeLost, 92, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 10, 1912, in Palicje, Slovenia. A resident for seven years, she was a retired seamstress.

She is survived by three nieces, Anna Marinch of Las Vegas and Betty Kovelan and Martha Angeline, both of Cleveland; one nephew, the Rev. Ed Sittinger of Pass Christian, Miss.; one great-nephew, Gary Marinch; and two great-great-nieces and nephews, Melissa, Mark and Michael.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a noon service Friday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Donald A. Harris

Donald A. Harris, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 24, 1923, in Huntington Park, Calif. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired insurance agent. He served during World War II and was an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by four sons, Scot Harris of Green River, Wyo., Tim Harris and Jim Harris, both of Las Vegas, and Allen Harris of Texas; one brother, Allen S. Harris of San Diego; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Christine D. Helm

Christine D. Helm, 47, of North Las Vegas died May 8 in North Las Vegas. She was born July 4, 1957, in Galesburg, Ill. A resident for one year, she was a grocery auditor.

She is survived by her husband, David C.; her mother, Ruth Paton, and one brother, Bill Paton, both of Galesburg; and two sisters, Becky Formeller of Galesburg and Cathy Menting of Coal Valley, Ill.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Anne Hohman

Anne Hohman, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 20, 1937, in Mount Vernon, N.Y. A resident 28 years, she was the retired president of Post Tension of Nevada.

She is survived by her husband, David; two sons, Edward Hohman of Henderson and John Hohman of Tucson; one daughter, Teri Paugh of Laguna Hills, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Matthew R. Hollister

Matthew R. Hollister, 14, of Las Vegas died Saturday. He was born April 17, 1991, in Portsmouth, Va. A resident for two years, he was a junior high school student at South Continuation School.

He is survived by his father, Harold R. Hollister III, his mother, Coretta M. Hollister, his stepfather, Marco Barajas, two brothers, Zachariah S. Keagle and James D. Hollister, and five sisters, Rebekkah J. Hollister, Rachael B. Hollister, Sarah D. Hollister, Mackenzie R. Hollister and Danika R. Hollister, all of Las Vegas

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Norma E. McGowan

Norma E. McGowan, 84, of Pahrump died Thursday in a local hospice. An excavating company owner, she was born Feb. 27, 1921.

She is survived by two brothers, George Manss and Roger Manss.

Deborah Theresa Morgan, 58, of Las Vegas died April 29.

James Francis Pangonis

James Francis Pangonis, 19, of Henderson died Sunday. A carpenter and former Boy Scout, he was born May 26, 1985, in LaMesa, Calif., and was a 2003 graduate of Foot Hill High School, Henderson.

He is survived by his parents, Beth J. and Ralph L. Pangonis Jr., three brothers, Ryan, Nikolus and Eric, one sister, Lori, and his grandfather, Ralph Pangonis Sr., all of Henderson; and his two grandmothers, Nancy Pangonis of Escondido, Calif., and Marlene Ninteman of Lakeside, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter's. Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Suite 1, is handling arrangements.

Hector Daniel Perez

Hector Daniel Perez, 22, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 13, 1983, in Las Vegas. He was a commercial glazer in the window industry.

He is survived by his parents, Hector and Ramona Perez, and three sisters, Maribel Camacho, Isabel Camacho and Veronica Perez, all of North Las Vegas; and his two grandmothers, Ofelia Perez of North Las Vegas and Rosario Corral of Mexico.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Richard Rudolph Sowards

Richard Rudolph Sowards, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday. He was born Nov. 11, 1931, in Manassa, Colo. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired operating engineer who worked at the Nevada Test Site for many years. During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, fishing and enjoying his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; three daughters, Patricia Sue Leavitt, Ann Reber and Linda Segal; one son, Steven Sowards; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until a 6 p.m. service Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. A private graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday.

Frances Mildred Stewart

Frances Mildred Stewart, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 18, 1928, in Jones County, Texas. A resident for 50 years, she was a retired hotel showroom waitress.

She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Simpson of Pahrump and Debbie Dressler of Las Vegas; two sons, Gary Reeves and Bill Cobb, both of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Willis N. Teater

Willis N. Teater, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. He was born June 14, 1935, in Baker, Ore. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired urban planner for the federal government, a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, Masonic Lodge 32nd Degree Shriner, Elks Lodge and Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity since 1954.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia A.; three daughters, Susan Quintero of San Diego, Debra Wright of Roanoke, Va., and Julie Teater of Orange, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Theresa Roberson of Corona, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 8 a.m. Sunday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Lillian Mezes Werner

Lillian Mezes Werner, 89, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 19, 1915, in Connecticut. A resident for 15 years, she was a bookkeeper for an auto dealership.

He is survived by one son, William Stanford; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
