Letter: That’s too much cake to waste

Wednesday, May 18, 2005 | 9:35 a.m.

Regarding the 130,720-pound cake that was baked for the city of Las Vegas' centennial celebration: What a waste to feed tons of leftover cake to pigs.

How nice it would have been for the city to instead have cooked 130,720 one-pound cakes in celebrating its centennial. Those cakes could have been given away after the ceremony. Just think how smart that would have been.

But that would have made too much sense, as the service organizations could have used them.
