PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Harrah's Entertainment has hired a former Democratic political operative to help persuade Rhode Island college students to support a proposed casino in West Warwick.
Angelique Pirozzi wrote an e-mail to at least one college professor saying the company is seeking organizers and "persuasion operatives" for the summer to early fall. Harrah's has partnered with the Narragansett Indian Tribe on a plan to build the casino. It seeks lawmakers' approval to hold a referendum on the issue in November.
